FIRE SAFETY & INSTALLATION GUIDELINES

Please note that whilst fire regulation is normal, ‘class 0’ is achieved, but all commercial installations have the responsibility to test on site to determine safety themselves. The way the paper is hung will determine the degree to which fire is resisted, ie. loosely hung paper will catch fire quickly; paper which is correctly hung and adhered to lining paper with no air gaps will not catch fire easily. Only the installers can determine this. We recommend consulting a professional decorator to avoid mishaps and increase health and safety.

Whilst our wallpapers are suited to most environments, applications in bathrooms, kitchens and other areas with high humidity or moisture may influence your choice of base paper. We recommend enquiring regarding our vinyls and coated papers for such situations.

It is important for you to consult your decorator for their opinion on region specific wallpaper pastes/ adhesives and patch test before application. We advise buying premixed paste, to ensure the correct consistency and ratio for wallpaper and to ensure a smooth and uniform application on the surface area. When hanging wallpaper, you will either be required to paste-the-wall OR paste-the-paper. Please ensure you are aware of which pasting method you will be using before installation, and purchase the correct paste accordingly.

*All wallpapers provided by YSD London include hanging guidelines and base specific instruction. Please thoroughly read these guidelines to ensure your wallpaper is correctly and safely installed. If you have lost your hanging instructions, please contact us quoting your order number. We’ll arrange for the relevant PDF to be sent to you for reference. We cannot take responsibility for incorrectly installed wallpaper- it is the responsibility of you and/ or your decorator to responsibly hang wallpapers according to their instructions. We always advise our clients to consult or hire decorators when installing wallpaper, not only to give you peace of mind with regards to health and safety but to reduce stress levels, too!
